Pops' Stew

  • ¼ cup flour
  • salt
  • ground fresh pepper
  • 3 lbs stew meat (extra lean)
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 3 whole celery stalks diced
  • 4 parsley sprigs chopped
  • 2 whole garlic cloves minced
  • 2 cups (1 can) diced tomatos
  • 2 tbsp (1 can) tomato paste
  • 1 quart beef stock
  • 6 whole carrots  peeled & quartered
  • 6 whole potatoes peeled & quartered
  • 12  whole small onions
  • 1/2 quart cabernet
  • ½ cup general purpose flour
  • ¼ cup corn starch
  • 1 each bay leaf
  • 6 dashes  Italian seasoning
  • 3/8 cup olive oil

    Destructions:

    1)  Preheat Large stock pan
    2)  add Olive oil
    3)  brown Stew Meat
    4)  add pepper, salt, sugar, italian seasoning, bay leaf, tomatos, tomato paste, beef stock, wine
    5)  bring to boil
    6)  simmer for 1 hour
    7)  add vegitables
    8)  simmer for ¼ hour
    9)  add flour & cornstarch, stir in completely
    10) simmer  2 hours
    11) ENJOY
